Volunteer Resources and Policies

Resources for Current Volunteers

Thank you for being a Hearts & Hands volunteer! This page includes our volunteer policies, forms you will need, and other important information for you. Please take the time to review each of the documents below.

Volunteer Forms

Care Receiver Interactions and Boundary Setting

All agency board of directors, staff, contractors, and volunteers shall receive training before interacting with the elderly, frail, and disabled individuals linked with Hearts & Hands. The training shall define appropriate boundaries, acceptable and unacceptable behaviors, and how to report any issues.

Elder Abuse Policy

Because of your direct work with elderly, frail and disabled individuals Hearts & Hands believes that it is essential for you to know the signs of these different types of abuse and how to intervene and advocate on behalf of our care receivers. The information and video presented here are designed to help you understand more about elder abuse.

Sexual Harassment Policy

Hearts & Hands is committed to maintaining a workplace free from sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is a form of workplace discrimination. All employees and volunteers are required to work in a manner that prevents sexual harassment in the workplace.

Winter Driving Policy

The winter months bring snow, ice and slippery roads to Western New York. Hearts & Hands wants to remind all of our volunteer drivers to be cautious while driving in adverse weather.

VOLUNTEER

Jeanette

I have really enjoyed meeting new people as a volunteer and new Buffalonian. Volunteering has also helped me learn more about my new surroundings. It has really given me a purpose.
