We would like to thank you for the generous community support and participation in our recent fundraiser Board to Death! presented by Friedman & Ranzenhofer, PC. The event took place on Saturday, May 30th in the Village of Akron and included participation from the Akron business district; specifically the C. Dee Wright Center, Main Street Salon, Mary’s Good and Plenty, Aunt Patty’s Flower Shop, and Friedman & Ranzenhofer, PC. This Murder Mystery scavenger hunt welcomed over 130 participants and raised over $3200 in financial support to Hearts and Hands. The event featured dinner from Orazio’s Restaurant at the LL Tillman American Legion Hall Post 900, raffle prizes from a wide range of local businesses and donors, a performance by classic rock band “The Shopkeepers”, and a theatre performance by Maryalice Demler of channel 2 News, Sally Davis of Hearts and Hands Board of Directors, and Alden Christian Theatre Society. In addition to the numerous donors and community support we received, we would like to specifically thank the Village of Akron, Akron Chamber of Commerce, the Akron Bugle, Culligan Water, and the volunteers who assisted with the event. The generous outpouring of support from our Western New York community is extremely touching. In fact, we had so much positive feedback, we are looking forward to holding this event annually, striving to keep it “walkable” and mutually beneficial to our caring communities. Thank you for making our event a success and we look forward to seeing you all next year!
